The Big Birthday Bashes

Before both our moms set off for their trip to Europe, we wanted to celebrate both Adelyn's and Mya's birthdays.  With good weather predicted on the first week of September, we pushed the girl's birthday party ahead a week, and had them both on Sunday.  A little early for Mya, but rain was in the forecast in the coming weeks.  The weather was perfect, sunny and not too hot.  We were situated under an acorn tree with a friendly squirrel dropping nuts from the branches above.

Thanks for coming!

Hope you had a good time!

We know the squirrels will be happy.

We had a family dinner the same evening.  The birthday girls each got their own ice cream cakes.  Happy birthday, Mya!  Happy Birthday, Adelyn!

The celebrations didn't stop there, Adelyn got some birthday cupcakes on her actual birthday.  And, we baked some mini cupcakes for her preschool class.

Happy 4th Adelyn!

At four years old, Adelyn can have a few melt downs here and there.  She is getting better at controlling them, but when it hits, we just have to let her cry it out.  Reasoning with her doesn't help, until that wave of emotions is gone.

Adelyn likes to be helpful, and is willing to lend a hand when we ask.   She is also gentle with her little sister. She likes to play with Mya, and Mya likes the attention.

Adelyn is also getting better with her fine motor skills.  She likes to draw more, and she is much better at printing her name.  Adelyn is also picking up a few more letters of the alphabet too.

Adelyn likes to joke with others, and dancing is still one of her favourite activities.  Her schedule is too busy for any classes this term, but she can be seen copying the dance moves on tv.  This girl loves a beat!

You make us feel so proud, Adelyn.  We love you!
