My gummy baby is now nine months! And look how big she has grown! She definitely has Len's height. Mya is at a really fun stage where is responsive and playful when you interact with her. She loves to laugh and giggle, and she likes to be tickled.

We have seen some hand movements when we say "bye," but we're not sure if they are intentional. Mya also likes to give kisses to stuffed animals. Her Gingerbread Hello Kitty, and a certain lamb puppet get most of the kisses. It's so sweet to see her excited, and pull them to her face. It makes my heart melt!
As I said before, her mouth is still gummy, no teeth in sight yet. She puts her fingers in her mouth a lot, and there's a lot of drool, so we think they are on their way. Her palate still prefers purees, even though I've tried introducing some more textured foods. At the table, Mya is watching closely, but when I try to offer new foods to her she doesn't seem eager.
Mya can say "bah bah," "mah mah," and "dah dah." There have been a few times where she said, "nigh nigh," and "mah mee," but we're pretty sure she didn't say them intentionally... or did she? Hahaha... She is definitely experimenting with her range of vocal skills.
At the moment, Mya can't sit up unassisted. She can last around 30 seconds before toppling over. One time Layla sat her up, and called out to tell me... and BOOM! Mya fell. She's just not ready, but she is getting there. She enjoys the jolly jumper and exersaucer at my mom's house.
Mya's hand coordination is also better. She will grab at things. When she is on the potty, she will look around to see what she can get her hands on. Giving her new toys or objects keeps her busy and entertained. Mya loves to explore, so when we are eating and holding her, we have to watch out, or her fingers will be in our food.
Mya is also on the move! She's not crawling yet, but she can roll her way to things. We can't leave her on our bed without supervision, and we have to make sure the floor is clear of small things that we don't want her hands on. It's also a challenge when we change her diaper. As soon as the diaper comes off, she rolls away. And, when she is on the hardwood floors, she can push herself backwards. Hey, where are you going?!?!
