A Rainy & Wet Bright Night

This year we didn't go on the Stanley Park train ride before Christmas.  There was just too many things going on.  We went after Christmas, after the snow melted away, but the rain just couldn't hold off.  We left the house when it was misting, but by the time we got there, it was full on raining.

The Tan-Ngs & the Lams in the rain

We didn't stay too long, and the train rides had sold out, but we did get to go to Phnom Phen.  We got there just before the dinner rush, and had a very yummy supper.  I am still drooling over their famous chicken wings, and butter beef.  And of course, by the time we finished, the rain had stopped.  That's rainy Vanouver weather for you!

We finished the night off with some tea and apple pie a la mode at the Tan-Ng's.  A night of good food with good friends is perfect for a rainy evening.

Holly Jolly Christmas!

Once again Santa was very generous to the Lams.  He was very kind, and spoiled our family.  The girls left out three cookies and a glass of milk by the fireplace, and in the morning the girls were pleased that he polished off his snack.

We had brunch with everyone before letting the girls dive in to their stockings and gifts, then we went over to Grandma Leong's for another round, and an afternoon snack of congee.  The fun didn't stop there, we went to Uncle Victor's for dinner, and a fun Christmas stocking guessing game.  The annual Secret Santa amongst the cousins was held at Uncle Dick's place on Christmas Eve before they left for San Fran.  What an unforgettable and fun holiday with the family.

We hope everyone enjoyed time with their family and friends.
Merry Christmas!

Love,
Len, Amy,
Layla, Adelyn, & Mya

Snowman 2012

We woke up to snow today!  Our first snowman of December 2012 was born this morning around 9:30-ish (am).  Layla named him "Frosty."

My Busy Elves...

had a blast decorating the gingerbread house.  The excitement on Layla's face was priceless when I pulled the kit out, she was so excited!  And I admit, I had a fun time putting it together too.

The girls also enjoyed making sugar cookies for their classmates.  They got to cut out trees and snowflakes with cookie cutters, and help decorate them with sprinkles.

Last night, White Swan Montessori had their Christmas concert.  After a wonderful and lively performance, and a pizza/potluck dinner, the girls got another visit with Santa!  He is a busy man this time of the year, the girls are very lucky to meet him so many times.

Christmas is in the Air

The holiday spirit has landed in the Lam household.  Len started playing Christmas music in the mornings while he is getting ready for work, and the girls have started practicing their Christmas carols for their upcoming Christmas concert.  Christmas is in the air here.

At the end of November, the girls and I made some ornaments.  They are pretty fragile because I used a white clay recipe, but they turned out pretty darn cute!  I hope to make crafting new ornaments a yearly tradition, it was really fun to make, and the girls were so proud to see them hanging on the tree.  Our tree is now adorned with ones we made with love.

We also made our way to visit Santa, and get our photos done.  This year were able to do one of just the girls, and a family one.  When Santa asked the girls what they wanted, Layla said, "Barbie," and Adelyn (eyeing what Santa had in his hands) said, "candy canes."  Just to be sure, Santa asked Adelyn again after he handed over the candy canes, and she said, "candy canes." Afterwards, the girls enjoyed some DQ ice cream cones.

This year Iris hosted their annual breakfast with Santa event again.  The girls got to decorate gingerbread, sing Christmas carols, and meet Santa again.

Enjoying the fruits of their labour

Today, Layla and Adelyn went shopping for Mya's first Christmas present.

Welcome to Our New Nest

As I said from my previous blog, I ran out of space.  Thanks for switching over, and I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures with L.A.M.
