More Celebrations!

The month is not over yet, and we had lots to celebrate...

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Happy 5th Month Mya!

Mya's Milestones at 5 Months:

Mya is really to fun to play with during this stage, just saying her name will crack a smile, or she will shriek with excitement.  Mya loves attention, especially when you play baby games, such as peek-a-boo, or sing her nursery rhymes with actions (Tick, Tick, I'm a Little Cuckoo Clock and Patty Cake are her favourites).

Mya had her first poopy in the potty too!  Daddy was able to catch Mya in action, yay!  Mya still doesn't like sitting on the potty, but she will tolerate it, if she is distracted.  It's still a guessing game, and it's not easy to spot all her poopy moments.

Smiling after her proud moment

With driving the girls to their around to their activities, there is no set nap schedule with Mya.  She just goes with the flow of things, and when she's tired she will scream, rub her eyes, and yawn.  At home it's easier to put her down, diaper change, feed, put her in her crib with her mobile on, and she will nod off.  Sometimes, we hear her talking to herself, or playing with her hands, or thumping with her legs to shake the mobile, before she settles down.

Mya has been pretty good with sleeping through the night now.  Her routine is a bath, then a bottle top up.  Then she goes in her sleep sack, humidifier on, night light on, lights off, and songs before we say our good nights, and let her drift off.  She will go down between 10:30-11:30pm, and wake around 7:30-8:00 am.  We are definitely happy that this phase has arrived, and it definitely makes Mommy much happier.

Mya's skin is still dry, dry, dry.  We know that she is itchy, and we try to do everything we can to keep it moisturised it, but it's always rough, and scaly.  We considered changing her formula, but then the pharmacist said why change it if she sleeps through the night?  plus, it may upset her stomach.  Hopefully, her skin will improve when she starts solids next month.

The drool hasn't stopped, and her chin is constantly wet, wet, wet.  Within minutes, her bib is soaking wet. No sign of teeth yet, but definitely lots of wet bibs in the laundry.

Bath time is still a hit or miss depending on her mood.  We do have ones that are tear-free, but we still have ones like this...

We can't believe how fast our little Mya is growing up.  Her toes are stretching out her 6 month sleepers, and it's time to move on to the 9-12 month clothes.  Her baby moments are slowly slipping away, and we are savouring all the baby hugs and snuggles we can get.

We love you Mya!

Pee, Pee!

It's may sound weird to blog about pee, but I'm proud that my little Mya peed in the potty today!  I'm also excited because this will be the last time we will have to go through potty training!  We are far from it, but it's a step in the right direction.   Mya doesn't like the little potty, and  I have to work hard to distract her while she is on it.  I do admit, the pee was totally by fluke.  I was trying to catch her poop, but got pee instead.

Way to go, Mya!
