Mya at eight months is a happier baby. Her skin has greatly improved with the new cream the dermatologist has prescribed. It turns out that she just has bad excema, and we just have to stay on top of it. We were doing the right things, and it doesn't seem to be food related, so that's a good thing.
Mya is getting pretty good at rolling. She can roll, roll, roll... So watching her is a must.
On the food front, everything still has to be pureed. Mya is still not ready for chunkier foods. I've tried just mashing fish, but she ended up gagging, and puking it all up.
Mya also has a magic twisty tongue. She can be seen playing tricks with it. I call it magic because neither Len nor I can do it. Mya can turn it side ways, and make waves. Sometimes, it even looks upside down! I remember seeing it with the other girls when they were babies too, but they can't do it now.
Mya is doing well on the potty. She seems to try to push when she is on it, giving us a lot more pees, and poops. She definitely enjoys sitting on the potty a lot more. She likes to talk and play with her reflection, and she likes to grab the items on the counter.
Sleep is much more predictable. Naps are longer at home, and when we are out, they are much shorter. Sometimes she will protest, but eventually she settles, and drifts off to dreamland. Most nights, she can sleep through the night, but when she is under the weather, she will wants a bottle at 3 or 4 am...ugh.
Mya is also much more aware of what is going around her. She doesn't like to be alone in a room, and when she is tired, she can be clingy.
Mya likes to explore with her hands. She will grab at things, scratch, and slap things that make noise. Her hands are still amazing to her, and when her feet make an appearance, she likes them too. Most of the time, we still have to keep her in a sleeper, or she will pull up her pant legs, and scratch them until they are raw. Hopefully, the scratching stops when summer is here.
Mya likes to babble and shout. She can make her voice go up very high, and sometimes she sounds like a whining little dog. No intentional first words yet, but Mya likes to say "dah dah" at the moment. We know that she is trying to say things to us, and at times, it seems like she is scolding us, but we just can't make out what she means. That could be good, or bad... Hahahaha...
We love you, Mya!
