My Little Bud

Adelyn had a fieldtrip to GardenWorks with her preschool to celebrate Mother's Day.  They sang songs, learned about plants, had some cake, painted pots, and planted some begonias.

PS, Easter and Update

This post is a miss-mash of events that happened.  I know I am way overdue for a post, so this will be a pretty long post.

Len and I had some more time away from our girls, and let me tell you... I LOVED it!  Thanks Moms for taking care of our girls while we enjoyed some kid-free time together.  Len and I went to Palm Springs with Iris.

I got to play my first round of golf for the very first time, and it was at PGA West.
Our little golf cart that was so fun to drive

Where's my ball?

Len won the longest drive, yay!!!

We also had some time to explore Old La Quinta, and went on a desert tour.

The San Andreas Fault
It was really, really, hot during our stay, high 30's!  It was nice to lounge at the pool, do some shopping, play tennis, and take in some spa time too.  Ahh....

This year for Easter, the girls had two egg hunts.  Thanks Mr. Bunny!

Before the hunt, my big girls

Mya really enjoyed looking for eggs

Chocolate for breakfast?!?!?

And another!?!?!
So, who ate the most chocolate eggs?

My girls are growing so fast these days.  Here are some fun moments:

Playing when Layla is at school

Hello!

Being silly!

Screaming!

Stroller time
Mya pushing Adelyn, what strength!
Fishing!

The two older girls are doing well in Kindergarten and Pre-school.  They continue to take swimming lessons, and Chinese school.  They play really well together, and they are their worst enemies, it's always a roller coaster of emotions here.  And, they are pretty very good at pushing our buttons too...a taste of what's to come?  Eek!

The greatest changes can be seen in Mya.  Mya's vocabulary and communication skills are growing exponentially.  Mya uses words and two word phrases to tell us things.  She can definitely understand a lot more of what we are saying, than what she can speak. Mya's favourite phrase is "sai sow" (wash hands).  She also likes to say "see" and "ook" (look) when she is excited about something.  And, there are times where she still points, and says things we don't understand, then we have to figure it out.

One time, I took Mya to the mall play area.  She saw a girl with a bagel, then looked at me, and pointed to my purse.  I looked at my purse.  Then she continued to point to my purse, and motioned her hand to her mouth, and say, "ummm, ummm, umm."  She wanted to eat something too!  Too cute!

Mya is very good at running away.  When she is out of her stroller, she will take off, and when she is far away, she will turn around, look at you, then keep on bolting.  She is not afraid of getting lost. Taking her out, and letting her roam can be very, very, challenging and tiring.  Even in the front yard, she will not just stay on the grass, she will try to run off into the street.

Mya's teeth are still coming in.  Her front teeth and molars are in, and all the teeth in between are slowly coming in.  Perhaps, this is why she still wakes up once a night.  Sometimes we are lucky, and we don't hear a peep until the morning.  She usually cries, then calls out.."Mum mee!" and on occasions, "Dah dee!"

Generally, Mya is a happy baby.  She likes people to play with her, she likes to dance, and be part of the action with her sisters.  Unfortunately, Mya also has a mean streak.  If she doesn't get her way, she will swat. We are working on saying "sow wee" (sorry), and giving hugs and kisses before she can move on.

Eating is messy time, Mya likes to be independent and feed herself.  She loves blackberries, yogurt, mushrooms, and udon.  There is definitely no holding back on food with my last baby, she loves chocolate, ice cream, and anything sweet.  She can polish off a whole Ikea cone all by herself.  No joke.

Mya really likes "ora" (Dora), and "mee mee mou" (Minnie Mouse).  She enjoys watching TV along with her sisters.  Mya can even sit through the movie Frozen, when it's movie night.

Mya loves to copy, and she continues to explore the world.  She is at a very fun age, and I just want to hug her and smother her to pieces.  My baby is growing up.

And Happy Birthday to my brother, Vincent!  Picture of the cousins (minus Sandy, Eric, & Michelle) and Grandma
