| getting ready to eat at grandma's |
Mya exhibits her own personality, a stubborn one. She is a strong fighter, and if she wants it her way, she will cry and scream until she gets what she wants. And being the baby, she does get it. *Sigh* it's hard not to, especially if it's 3:00 or 4:00 am. She usually sleeps through the night, but being sick, she has been waking up a lot, asking for milk. I hope this phase passes quickly.
Mya still has bad skin. Her face got much better, but she is still itchy and scratchy all over. As soon as the snaps or zipper comes down, her arms are trying to scratch herself anywhere; her tummy, and her legs. Mya will also try to scratch her head, so we have to watch her carefully. It's easier to keep Mya in full sleepers, because if we are not watching carefully, she will pull her pant legs, and scratch her knees and legs until they are raw, and bleeding. She has done this a few times in her car seat. We are scheduled to see the dermatologist this week, hopefully, he can give us some solutions and answers. We've tried various creams, switching formulas, changing to fragrance free everything, and nothing seems to work. Mya is always wiggling around, and trying to scratch herself. My poor baby!
I did an earlier post on her first experience with food, and she is okay with food, but she still loves her milk. It's also hard to tell if she has a reaction to any foods because of her bad skin. So, hopefully, we can have this all figured out by soon.

On the potty front, Mya has been getting much better, she does make her poopies in the potty when we are at home. And even a few times when we've been out. It is much better to have her go in the potty than in her diaper. When she does go in her diaper, 80% it's everywhere... it's the explosive kind, where everything needs to be changed, because it goes out the sides and up her back.
Mya is getting better with her nap routine. She has a morning nap, and then one after lunch, and a tiny cat nap around 8-9 pm, before finally going down around 11 pm. Then she is up again around 7:30-8:00am. That schedule is on her good days. Right now, it's out the window because she is sick. So, last night she was up at 3:00 am and 6:00 am asking for milk. Hopefully, we can get back on track when the cold passes.

Mya is very interested in what her sisters are up to, she will arch her back to try to get a glimpse of them, if they are not in sight. And she loves playing peek-a-boo, or doing nursery rhymes with actions. Mya also enjoys the Jolly Jumper, and the Exersaucer. Mya will grab onto toys to explore, and she is still fascinated by her own hands and feet.
Mya's muscles are much stronger, she can roll over, and roll back the other way now. Her legs are still very good at kicking and trashing, we can often hear her thumping in her crib. It's definitely time to lower the crib again.

Mya may seem quiet with strangers, but she definitely can sing and scream when she is excited or frustrated. We can often hear her singing in her crib, and one time, she and Alex had a screaming baby talk session.
Mya is slowly becoming more clingier, but when she is in a good mood she likes to show people her gummy wet smile. Her drool has not ceased yet, so she is always sporting a bib.
Mya is over 18 pounds, and fits into 12 months sleepers and clothes. She is big for her age, and it won't be long before she will need a new car seat. The baby stages are slowly slipping away. We love you, Mya!
